It's been three weeks since my surgery and I did 22 miles last week. I feel good, with a little discomfort and sometimes I'm tired. I'm able to drive short distances now.
Sometimes I feel like my medication is holding me back. I've lost about 10 pounds and am eating mostly fruit and vegetables to keep it off. I have more stamina every week.
Last night is the first night I didn't sleep in a recliner, I slept in bed. I continue to go to the bathroom several times during the night. Overall I feel good.
Week two is definitely better than week one. Today Brian drove about six miles. I think he was glad to be the one behind the wheel. He was told he could drive 10 days after he was discharged from Duke and today was nine days.
We arrived home around 6 pm. It's been a long day. Brian is doing well, still walking around 3 miles a day. There is some mild discomfort - all part of the process. We both are looking forward to resting up and a smooth recovery. We thank everyone for the caring wishes and healing prayers. Milly
i am checked in at Duke, and ready for surgery tomorrow at 7 am. Thank you for the caring thoughts and prayers. Check back here for updates.
I went into surgery at 7:50. As of 10:30, everything was going very well.
As of 12:40 Brian is off bypass and being closed up. They were able to do it using the minimally invasive technique!
It's 335 pm and Brian is in recovery doing great. He looks great and I'm heading to the hotel to sleep. Thanks for your prayers and support! Please keep praying for the next 24 hrs. Milly
