Dr. Miller, Olathe medical center. Olathe, KS is going to try to repair leaks in my Aortic and Mitral valves, if possible, if not he will replace. He also plans to remove a Subaortic membrane obstruction that is restricting my blood flow. Also mentioned a thickened heart muscle. Has anyone... Read more.

Can anyone tell me of any unusual events that occurred after surgery, so I can be prepared.

Hi Birdie, I had my 3rd open heart surgery in 2013 (I had already had my mitral valve replaced in 04, and they replaced my aortic valve in 2013.) Best advice I have is do the cardiac rehab after wards (I didn't after my first two surgeries, but I was... Read more.

Thanks for the insight. I am 73 and will start doing some exercises tomorrow, sure can't hurt anything. I am actually pretty active, mowed yard yesterday (zero turn) close to an acre. But got really tired when I tried weed eating, but just took it slow and rested when necessary.... Read more.
