Bags packed for admit and pre-op tomorrow. Surgery Wednesday morning. Not an anxious just ready to get the show on the road. I am so tired of waiting and seeing doctor after doctor to make it all happen. Since it's not my first rodeo I now what to expect, and the last time I had open heart I was very sick, expecting this to be a cakewalk in comparison. However, I unfortunately know what lies ahead when I wake up, I am not sure if knowing or not knowing is better. I am curious if there are many people on here who have had repair or replacement for secondary(functional) MR, who are younger (Under the age of 50) and if they feel it has been successful in symptom reduction and slowed disease process? Second question I have is for those who have had more than one open heart procedure and if they felt the second was worse, my surgeon said it would be a more difficult recovery due to all the scar tissue etc.?
