Hi, It's been 3 months since my surgery. I am taking half tablet of metropolol in morning and night. It was reduced from one because my heart rate and blood pressure was dropping. However, since start of this month my resting heart rate is always between 80 and 87. Blood... Read more.

I'm basically the same at 6 weeks post-surgery. My cardiologist says it should drop once I get back to exercising more (other than walking). I start rehab this week, so hopefully that will happen quickly.

It takes the heart and lungs longer to recover than we think or feel, but it will comeback in time. We think we recover fast and many do, but it can take the heart and lungs a year to recover, depending on the person. Hang out n there, it should... Read more.
