About Me (In My Own Words)
Years ago it was discovered by my GP I had a heart murmur. He was not concerned at the time and as time passed on so did he (what a great Doctor). I went through a couple more and one sent me to a Cardiologist to test this this murmur. It was discovered that I had Aortic Stenosis (???) (whats that??). The Cardio guy explained it and said it was moderate to severe and to alert him if I had shortness of breath, chest pains, etc.
I traveled in my job a lot and did start to notice shortness of breath and slight chest pains. I recently mentioned to my new GP about this and referred me to new Cardiologist. After several test and the last being yesterday (a TEE) and an (Angioplasty) it had progressed to severe.
My Cardio guy asked me to stick around and speak to the Surgeon and glad I did. He explained was it was supposed to look like and what mine actually looked like. He said he an opening on Tuesday the (28th) and I said to book it. I wanted to get this done and over with for I am the kind of guy that does not like to sit still and am always on the go.
Stay tuned for a followup in a week or so depending on when I get released.
10/31/14 UPDATE
The surgery was cancelled the morning of due to calcium buildup in my Aorta. The surgeon informed me about 4 hours before. The teams major concern was possibility of some breaking off and causing a stroke.
So now I will be getting an artificial valve on the 3rd of December, unless there is any cancellations.
11/22/2014 Update
They had a cancellation for some reason and I got bumped up to next Wednesday 11/26/2014. Update surgery is now scheduled next Wednesday 11/26/14. I want to get this done I am getting tired of being tired.
