I have always had a heart murmur but it never gave me any problems. Then I began getting breathless when out walking my dogs. So I went to my GP and was referred to a cardiologist for tests. I was awaiting an angiogram appointment when I started getting crushing chest pains and was taken into hospital. I then had aortic valve replacement surgery and that was four months ago. I am now feeling good and more like myself again and feel my life is getting back to normal. I was a fit and active 64 year old who never saw this coming but I am still here to tell the tale. I also want to thank all the medical staff, my family and friends for their care support and prayers throughout this difficult time. Which has been of great comfort to me and still is as I continue on my road to recovery.
