About Me (In My Own Words)
Hi All and excited to join this community!
I live 45 min outside of Philadelphia so I'm a big sports fan of the Philly teams and Penn State.
I'm 51 yo and happily married with 3 sons (ages 16-22). I'm physically active and fortunately in overall good health since I've consistently exercised my entire life. I was diagnosed with a heart murmur at age 11. Over the past 40 years I've had routine check ups to monitor my heart condition (see below) that became more precise as the technology improved. I had some sports restrictions through college but then enjoyed the next 25 years will few restrictions. My cardiologist at Jefferson Health has been counseling me about the eventual corrective surgery I'll likely need in the next 3-5 years. So I'm currently being evaluated to determine if I would be a good candidate for a ROSS procedure.
My heart condition includes:
Bicuspid aortic value (now with mild stenosis)
Ascending aortic aneurysm (4.6 cm)
Mitral valve prolapse with regurgitation
