About Me

I was diagnosed with a bicuspid aortic valve in November 2015. At the time of my diagnosis I was already at severe with some shortness of breath and fatigue. This diagnosis was a shock to say the least and my then cardiologist was severely lacking in compassion and desperately needed a course in bedside manner 101! I thought I was being seen to try to get my high blood pressure under control. After reviewing my echocardiogram she came in the room and promptly announced my blood pressure was the least of my problems, I needed open heart surgery to replace a valve! Shock set in for about a week or so and then I began to do some research. That is when I found Adam's book and this blog which I have been stalking for the last two years! It has been so helpful to read your adventures and hear your encouragement! I already consider you my friends! When I sit down to read the blog I tell my husband I'm checking on my friends to see how surgery went, or how their appointment went. I have waited to actually "join" because it made it a little to real..... However, I guess it's time for surgery. I am a 60 year old, wife, mother and grandmother. I have much to live for and I am trusting God for wisdom and direction during this process. Your prayers are coveted!
