About Me

I found out I had a heart murmur around 1984. Which is not to say that is when I may have been diagnosed with it. I'm not sure when that was. I really didn't pay much attention to it again until now. I honestly didn't even know they considered a heart murmur a congenital heart defect. Fast forward to about 2 years ago when my family doctor kept telling me my heart beat was 'so loud' and indicated I should see a cardiologist but I didn't take it serious. The following year when I went to see him, his comment was 'I'm not joking'. So I set up an appointment with a cardiologist and after visits with him, a TEE procedure, a heart catheter procedure I'm now here. While I'm not thrilled about surgery I am so glad this forum is here. I almost felt like hanging out at the Cardiovascular Center at the hospital in hopes of meeting someone who has/is or will be in my same shoes. Glad I didn't need to become a stalker in order to find out information and connect with people.
