About Me (In My Own Words)
I’ve been followed by a wonderful Cardiologist, Dr. Dale Adler at Brigham and Women’s in Boston for the past ten years.
The regurgitation scale of 1-4 was explained early on. I began as a 2 and slowly became a 3 in the past year when he finally said in March of 2021 that it was time to intervene with a Tricuspid valve replacement and placement of a pacemaker in my abdomen, below ny breast bone, not above.
On December 16 I was admitted for the “forgotten valve” surgery.
After waiting anxiously for 9 months, I had gone through all the anxiety, fear, despair and was actually just ready to get on with it.
I shockingly went home after 6 nights......I am now happy to be home. Days are better than nights and I hope to get stronger each day. The pacemaker is causing the most discomfort and I’m hoping it gets less awkward.
I’m 62 years old and hope the new valve gives me many more years here....
