The Lawrence H. Cohn Mitral Valve Center

During his forty-year career, Dr. Larry Cohn has developed several techniques for enhanced mitral valve repair surgery due to disorders including aortic stenosis and mitral regurgitation. Of his 11,000 cardiac procedures, more than 2,000 operations have involved treatment of defective mitral valves.

In particular, minimally invasive mitral valve repair surgery has been a clinical interest and specialty of Dr. Cohn for many years. Using a small 3-inch incision, Dr. Cohn's team can acheive surgical outcomes that are equal or better than most  traditional procedures which require a 9-inch incision to the sternum.
