Sue's Profile

Hi my name is Sue Knowles I am 45 years old and I was born with a congenital heart condition. I had a hole in the heart and a blocked valve. The details of this are quite sketchy as my 76 year old Mother can't really remember much details and my Father passed away when I was 10 years old. I believe I had surgery twice within days if each other when I was a baby and again when I was about 6 years old. This was to repair the hole & valve. I have a few memories of this, but again a little sketchy. 1. Waking up in ICU and having dry mouth 2. Having my stitches out 3. Harold Wilson (the then Prime Minister) visiting the ward I have had no problems throughout my Adult life and have been a Police Officer for the past 22 years. Last year I began I feel very breathless and tired. I then went to the Drs and the rest is history as they say. I have been told by my Dr I require valve replacement.
