I am returning to this site after an absence and due to an issue having to start over. My AVR surgery was in August of 2013. Surgery went well and recovery for me went well so I consider myself blessed. I spent time before my surgery enouraging others that were facing valvue surgery like myself and cheering them on through their recoveries. I made some wonderful connections with others on this site at that time and hope that I can offer support and encouragement to those facing surgery and/or recovery now. Adam has done an amazing job of informing and continuously providing more support and information to heart valve patients. I look forward to "meeting" some of you as I am approaching my 5th second "birthday"! Sherry
