About Me (In My Own Words)
Dr. Michael Madani replaced my ascending aorta one month ago today. The surgery was at Sulpizio Cardiovascular Institute at UC San Diego Medical Center. I had great care and couldn’t be happier with how things turned out. Dr. Madani ended up leaving my bicuspid valve in. He said it was operating so well it could outlast the bovine valve that was scheduled to replace it.
I feel really good for one month after open heart surgery. I am already taking long walks and starting to go to the gym. I am thrilled that I don’t have to worry about the aneurysm anymore!
