About Me

On December 2014 I was diagnosed with a bicuspid aortic valve and aortic stenosis. As a result of this my heart was enlarged. After consulting two cardiologists both agreed that I needed surgery which took place on March 13, 2015. The best advice I can give anyone who needs heart surgery is this: if it has to be done, it has to be done. You cannot, and will not, eradicate your fear and your anxiety, or that of your loved ones. But you can choose how you want to deal with them. In my case, I always had the full conviction that I was doing it for myself, because I am 37 years old and there is so much I want from life. Whether you're 37 or 77 life is precious and is worth living it until the very end. And I can also tell you this: having the surgery not only did it save my life, it changed me because now that I will live I now realize how precious and wonderful life is. You don't need to have to surgery to realize that, but I didn't understand it until now, and now I am grateful to life, to God, to my family and friends.
