About Me (In My Own Words)
I was diagnosed with a bicuspid valve at 50 years old. Told I had 20 years to go before replacement. I was an athlete and my valve went bad faster than expected. My cardiologist at WestMed in NY got me to the wonderful Dr. Allan Stewart who was chief aortic surgeon at Mt. Sinai hospital at that time. He got me in at 53, replaced my aortic valve with the newest Medtronic cow valve. One year later I tested for my FOURTH Degree Black Belt in Shorin-Ryu Karate.
