About Me (In My Own Words)
From my yearly check up with my family doctor in late September, 2014, he heard a murmur in my heart. A subseqent ecocardiogram showed a level 4 mitral valve regurgitation. Have had no previous health issues of any kind and no family history of heart disease -- a complete surprise to me. I had not knowingly experienced any symptoms normally associated with a severe mitral valve regurgitation. Had surgery 12/5/14. Thanks to Dr. Crestanello and The Ohio State University's Ross Heart Hospital, they repaired my valve. I am now 9 weeks out from surgery and recovering very well. Trying to stay active and following rehab. I actually hit golf balls on the practice range in AZ yesterday with only minor discomfort.
