About Me (In My Own Words)
I was in the Air Force, an avid runner. I was bonking on my runs but figured I was getting older and ignored the fatigue. I then started having to fight off sleep in the afternoons, ignored that as well and pushed through it, because that is what we military folks do! Well, before my annual PT (physical training) exam my flight surgeon heard the infamous murmer and ordered me to go to the hospital immediately. A week later I was undergoing open heart surgery. There was so much dammage a specialist was flown in from CA to assist in the procedure. I have a St Judes artifical valve, my entire aortic route was rebuilt and a portion of my brachial aretery. This was done with dacron. The procedure was called the Benthall procedure. I was medially retired from the Air Force. Dr. Lemmer is amazing, with the amount of dammage I had I should not be here. I am so grateful for his knowledge and skills.
