About Me (In My Own Words)
When I was 13 I was diagnosed with Aorta stenosis and insufficiency. I went for yearly check ups until I was 19. At that time my cardiologist wanted to talk about surgery, I didn't! So I didn't go back until years later when I was pregnant with my first child. I told this diagnosis to a family doctor back in the 90's and he told me that wasn't a real diagnosis I had one or the other, I most likely just had a murmur, well I felt stupid and just stopped telling doctors unless they asked. It has been 25 years since that doctor discussed surgery and I have had symptoms over the years, but I would adjust my activity rest up a few days and try to ignore it. Over the past few months I have noticed a change chest pain/ heaviness, shortness of breath, my arms go to sleep when I lay flat, cough, I'm cold all the time and fatigue I have gone for an echo, and I am waiting to get in with the cardiologist. I have a lot of mixed emotions in one way I feel like I'm making a big deal out of nothing and on the other hand I wonder if I should have took this a lot more serious than I have. I am praying God will lead me right now.
