About Me (In My Own Words)
I am 61 years old, a Physical Therapist, and work in hospital management. I had been in excellent health up until my heart condition was discovered. I was diagnosed with bicuspid aortic valve and aortic aneurysm in 2022. Monitored on a regular basis then became symptomatic with severe stenosis by late 2024. Evaluated surgical options and decided on Ozaki procedure. I was referred to Dr. Unai at the Cleveland Clinic, who has extensive experience with this procedure and regularly trains with Dr. Ozaki in Japan. The new valve is functioning flawlessly. Will continue with regular check ups and start cardiac rehab in another week.
