Send Mariana a NoteAbout Me
I was born with tetralogy of fallot, and had open heart surgery at 6 mos old to repair a hole. Then had a stent placed when I was in my late teens, and a transcath pulmonary valve replacement was attempted and not successful in April 2026. So now I'm getting open heart surgery, on June 23rd, and they are not only replacing my pulmonary valve but also removing part of the "aged and ineffective stent" then patching the portion of valve where the stent was. I'm hearing words like "complex" and "hard" used to describe the surgery by my care team. I'm scared. My son graduated from high school a little over a week ago, so we went on a road trip to the beautiful Pacific Northwest, so I can meditate on nature and be a bit active before the procedure and long recovery. I keep crying when nobody's looking though.
