About Me

I was diagnosed this summer after a nurse noticed a murmur during a routine checkup. I was assertive in moving forward with additional referrals and testing and, despite multiple cardiologists telling me they seriously doubted anything was really wrong, I was found to have MVP with severe regurgitation. My surgery is anticipated to be robotic and a mitral valve repair 11/14/2024. I researched multiple hospitals, got second opinions, and ultimately decided to stay close to home. I'm a single mom with a 9 year old at home and 21 year old living down the street from us. I'm a living kidney donor so have undergone a nephrectomy and recently had a surprise appendectomy but never anything like OHS.
