In 2006 I was diagnosed with Bicuspid Aortic Stenosis. On May 17, 2013, I had my first open-heart surgery. At that time, I had a tissue valve as the replacement and that has since started to fail. On May 3, 2022, I will be having my 2nd open-heart surgery and have decided to go with the Ross Procedure but will have the Ony-X mechanical valve as a back-up in case the Ross Procedure is not going to work (that will be a game day decision).
