Update: My surgery date is Mon. Feb. 24/20. Was diagnosed with severe aortic stenosis 2 years ago. Last summer the local surgical team in Victoria, BC, told me that any procedure to replace the valve would be too risky so none of the surgeons were prepared to do it. I was offered a referral to a surgeon in Vancouver and have finally got an appointment for a consult on Wed. Aug. 21, 2019. Have a road trip and ferry ride to get there and home again so not looking forward to that as it'll be exhausting. On the bright side, since it's been a short time between the call and the appointment, I don't have much time to worry about it.
