About Me

I went for an echo on Feb 7, 2017. I knew at that time something was not right. The tech seemed very concerned and made me promise to come back the next day to see the cardiologist. Feb 8th I got the news that I dreaded, I knew something was wrong but to hear him say Open Heart Surgery, I lost it! I called a friend to meet me at a restaurant and yes I had an adult drink. I could not wrap my head around it all. All I kept hearing was open heart surgery. My sister kept trying to call and I could not bring myself to tell her. I made it home and called my sister to come over she did, I told her she hugged me and said we will get through this. I went for a TEE procedure on Feb 13th, which confirmed my Dr's suspicion. I have severe aorta stenosis and bicuspid aorta valve. I go on Feb 28th for a heart cath. Awaiting to meet with surgeons to discuss the surgery :( I am nervous, scared and worried.
