About Me

My GP heard a heart murmur during my preventative maintenance check up in early January 2018. I was diagnosed with a torn left mitral valve that needed to be dealt with. Being an active runner I wanted to get it done now while I'm still young and be able enjoy many years of running. On June 1st 2018 (age 44) I was scheduled to have an open heart surgery to repair/replace my mitral valve. My surgeon was able to repair my valve. I was stoked to know that I will not have to take Coumadin for the rest of my life. My goal is to run my 58th or 59th marathon before the end of 2019. :)
