About Me (In My Own Words)
Was diagnosed back in 2013. The condition was minor at that time, so my cardiologist told me no lifestyle changes. Just need a yearly echo (unless I started showing symptoms). Fast forward to September of '16 - started showing the big symptom - shortness of breath). Had an echo, and sure enough, it had gotten way worse. Severe according to my doc. Was in denial about it, so kept putting off doing the TEE and angiogram. Finally got them done and scheduled my surgery. BTW, I opted for OHS instead of minimally invasive. It's been two weeks and I'm doing great! Dry cough, back pain and lack of sleep are my biggest problems right now. Doc says all normal and should resolve themselves in a few weeks. I'm happy to answer any questions about my experience!
