I'll be 45 on August 29th, I was born with a bicuspid aortic valve and now have severe aortic stenosis, my mechanical aortic valve replacement surgery will be September 7th at MSWHC and I can't wait to have my energy back. We decided to go with a mechanical valve and coumadin (blood thinner) vs an organic valve. I'm so very fortunate to have such a wonderful boyfriend, Chris, co-workers, friends and family, I couldn't of gotten this far without their love and support. My parents are getting older and I don't think they nor I could go through this journey again in 10 years. With the mechanical valve, I should be good to go for another 25 years!! Fingers crossed!
