Diagnosed with BAV in 2022, I was initially told they would monitor it annually, but after a year, it became every six months. Now, my stenosis has reached a severe level, and I need heart surgery within a matter of weeks or months. I'll know more after undergoing cardiac catheterization on Oct 7th.
I met with a cardiac surgeon last Monday with my wife. He said I would be a good candidate for the Ross procedure and that they've had many success stories at URMC. He's one of the few specialists who performs the Ross procedure there.
