This will be my second surgery on mitral valve in 5 years. I had a minimally invasive repair in Nov 2012 in Dallas at Baylor with Dr. Robert Hebeler. Because of recent visit with my cardiologist I have borderline atrial enlargement, mitral leaflet with "hockey puck shape" and ejection fraction % of around 50%. I have had low blood pressure since my 1st surgery with many times being 87-90 over 55-60 range causing exhaustion and some brief atrib occasionally and occasional pressure in chest or shortness of breath. I am 45 years old. My visit with Dr. Lamelas is on 8/3/2017 not the surgery. We will discuss treatment options at this visit. My wife and son will attend this visit to be educated on options.
