About Me (In My Own Words)
I was born with a heart murmur, which was diagnosed in my 30s as a bicuspid aortic valve. Over the next 20 years my valve progressed from moderate stenosis / mild regurgitation to severe stenosis / moderate regurgitation. I am in good health, am a regular gym-goer, and completely asymptomatic. After researching all the options and consulting with two surgeons, I have decided to move forward with the Ross Procedure. My spouse and I are now busy preparing for surgery and the post-surgery recovery.
