I am 47 years old and have always been in very good health. I had been diagnosed 4 years ago with an aortic root aneurysm and bicuspid aortic valve. Was being tested annually via CAT scans. I felt great and had no symptoms. Surgery was on 10/17/11 in Louisville, KY. I had AVR along with ascending aortic Dacron graft, via full sternotomy. I chose a tissue valve (Medtronic Freestyle porcine).
