About Me (In My Own Words)
I have a P2 mitral valve segment flail with ruptured chordae (from the TTE, and initial interpretation of my TEE, it was thought I had endocarditis, but I was never that seriously ill). The surgeon on close review decided it was from a ruptured chordae. Despite "moderate-severe" regurgitation, I feel relatively well (no afib, EF 60%, normal size ventrical). My surgeon says I'm a candidate now for replacement with a mechanical mitral valve (he does minimally invasive thoracotomy, not robotic); and if I choose to replace the aortic valve now, it means a sternotomy.
Then I discovered Heart Valve Surgery... The expertise that is available is a incredible - and a bit overwhelming to choose.
Has anyone navigated using an out-of-state and out-of-network Obamacare insurance for their surgery.
Thank you Adam for this incredible resource
