About Me (In My Own Words)
I have moderate to severe mitral valve regurgitation plus tricuspid and aortic regurgitation. Despite "moderate-severe" regurgitation, I feel well (no afib, EF 60%, normal size ventricle). The local surgeon says I'm a candidate now for replacement with a mechanical mitral valve via minimally invasive thoracotomy (not robot) or sternotomy if want to replace aortic valve at the same time. We did not even discuss the tricuspid.
Then I discovered Heart Valve Surgery... The expertise and the information that Adam has gathered in one place is extraordinary.
I have learned about the superior results and life expectancy with mitral valve repair, especially when performed at a Reference Center.
I live in a state that does not have one. Has anyone navigated using an out-of-state and out-of-network ACA insurance for their surgery?
