About Me (In My Own Words)
I had a stroke in 2015 from which I am 95% recovered. I have been in congestive heart failure since 2014. I have had a lot of afib. I had an ablation for my afib that was quite successful. My mitral valve has been leaking for four years and getting worse. My heart valve replacement was just two weeks ago (8/10/22). I am a young 67. I play tennis and hike and bike. I don't want to lose my ability to be active. I am hoping a new heart valve will actually impair my ability to do things. Fingers crossed. I choose to be optimistic but there are days that sap your energy and bring you down. I have a dog that I love and a great supportive girlfriend, so I have some very positive things in my life.
