Two years ago I went to a cardiologist due to a heart murmur. They discovered a BAV and it was considered to be at a moderate stage. Fast forward to April 2024 and it has advanced to a severe status. I was told that my only option is to have a mechanical valve due to my age (just turned 50). I was told that I could only have 2 tissue valves in my lifetime and I wouldn't outlive them, making them not an option. They will also be performing a bypass of my LAD since they discovered a blockage during the heart cath...lots to process here for me.
