I have known that I have had mitral valve prolapse since it was discovered when I was 28 years old. Here recently I started having symptoms to the point I passed out. I was referred to my cardiologist who did a TEE test and and my leakage is severe. I was then referred to Dr. Parrino at Ochsners in New Orleans. I am now 49 years old and scheduled for Open Heart valve repair on Wednesday Jan. 26th.
