About Me

Diagnosed with a bicuspid AV when I was 10 (1980). I had 2 open MAZE procedures in Houston, TX in 1982 (Jan & May), and received a pacemaker then. Now, at 56, it’s time for the AV (and accompanying aneurysm) to be replaced, as well as needing my LAD bypassed. I was referred to Cleveland Clinic as I’m a “high-risk” redo down here, and will have a Ross Procedure, CABG, MAZE, aneurysm repair and pacer lead extraction and revision on Aug 14th. I’ve been a RN here in Southwest Virginia/Eastern Kentucky for 35 years; that can be good or bad when I undergo this!
