S/P SURGERY: AVR 27 mm Inspiris, replacement ascending aorta with 30 mm gelweave tube graft, Mvr mitral annuloplasty 33 mm Duran band, Biatrial Bipolar and cryo MAZE, Remodelling of non coronary sinus with gelweave patch, LAAC 35 mm Clip
First diagnosed in 2015 with severe aortic stenosis.
Was not symptomatic at the time of diagnosis.
Initial diagnosis was at Bumrungrad International Hospital in Bangkok Thailand.
Confirmation of diagnosis was done in Albuquerque NM.
Became obviously symptomatic in Spring of 2022.
By summer of that year became severely symptomatic.
I have been living in Northern Laos since 2012 and returned to the US to set up the surgery at Cleveland clinic who had contacted in 2015 to form an initial line of communication.
Was in contact with Dr Gillinov at Cleveland Clinic at that time.
I made contact again with Cleveland and Dr Gillinov in August of 2022.
Went to Cleveland on September 10, 2022 for a series of exams.
Because I had developed additional problematic conditions I was referred to Dr Koprivanac who could perform multiple procedures at the same time.

I am now 1 year out from my surgery
at the writing of this history.
* currently I am still taking 2 medications:
Metropolol 25mg
Eliquis 5mg
I prefer to not continue taking the medication if I no longer need it.
However the 2 cardiologist I have consulted do not seem to feel I should taper off the meds and yet they have done no testing of any kind to determine my heart function.
I am a bit baffled by this.
After reading a Q&A with Dr Gillinov regarding post op and Afib it is my understanding that Afib after valve surgery more often than not goes away by itself in most cases.
I check my own EKG with my AppleWatch and it is consistently normal’.
I wish I could get correct and accurate information regarding this.
