About Me

Was told 20 or more years ago that I had mitral stenosis due to rheumatic fever as a child. 14 years ago went into a-fib and had a valvuloplasty at Ochner Clinic which resulted in some regurgitation. Have been on coumadin since then. Last stress echo showed pressure up in my heart and the possibility of aortic valve. Am scheduled for surgery at the Cleveland Clinic on March 18th My surgeon will be Dr. Gillinov. Am told he will do tissue valves for both and a maze procedure to end the a-fib and get me off coumadin. I am 70 and am looking forward to excellent results and being able to do some of the things that have curtailed me. Have a wonderful support group and will have family members with me as I travel to OH from FL. Am sure I'll be posting more as time approaches. Now have diagnosis of Aortic Stenosis. Candidate for TAVR procedure in November 2018
