About Me (In My Own Words)
I had mitral valve repair with a ring to secure the flap on January 9, 2026. I am at my daughters in California recuperating with my husband. It hasn’t been one month yet, seems like my healing is slow! I have little energy. My red blood count was very low after surgery and 2 weeks later. I will see my cardiologist in another week, hope to go to cardiac rehab soon. I was in bypass for almost 2 hours. My stomach and bowels felt “dead” after surgery, stomach pain and constipation. I saw a Gastro Doc who helped with the stomach but I’m still fighting constipation. Anyone else out there struggling with energy and slow bowels after this surgery?
