About Me

After a lovely 4th of July weekend of coughing up blood I went to the ER. I was diagnosed w pneumonia & admitted to the hospital. What a way to spend my vacation, right? WRONG After a few hours a nurse came in to my room and was reviewing my history, during which she noted a valve disorder. um......what? ! The nurse quickly realized I had no clue what she was talking about, and got the doctor. That's how I found out I was born with a bicuspid aortic valve & that I had an aneurysm. So I spent my summer vacation seeing a slew of docs in another city, and then coming home to meet a whole other team (*who I thankfully liked even better). I had surgery to replace the valve and repair the aneurysm on 10/30/15. Turns out that's not all! I have another 6 small aneurysms in my coronary that will be monitored hopefully for another 50 years. Worse case I will be posting again regarding a 2nd heart surgery. The good Lord has blessed me thus far & I have no reason to believe that will change. So Ill keep moving forward, enjoying every day I have.
