About Me (In My Own Words)
I had open heart mitral valve repair about 2 years ago. 3 weeks post surgery I started having severe episodes of vertigo, having about 7 biggies in a 3 month period and numerous somewhat lesser ones since. Also during this time I had several instances where suddenly my eyes wouldn’t work together to focus for several minutes. Scary! I was sent to ENT for tests..negative. Neurologist and mri, negative. It has slowed down and I’ve been trying some ocular exercises plus chiropractor, but I’ve still had sudden smaller episodes and due to no warnings when they come I haven’t driven in over 2 years. This is sooooo debilitating to my life and causes much anxiety that it will happen when out that I don’t do anything alone. Good thing we’re retired! Why did no one have any answers? My daughter found “ pump head”, seems only explanation. Seems a brain thing! Does it ever resolve completely???? Longest I’ve been without an episode is about 6 months. I’d like my life back!
