About Me

I'm 62, have a strong heart with no other issues. I went in for an expected routine Avr with mini sternotomy. I went into Cardiac arrest, post surgery, then returned to surgery for a Full sternotomy with a replacement valve. Did fine in icu recovery the 2nd time. I was moved to the step down unit then released home. I was home about a week but family noticed memory issues. My husband took me back to the ER and I was diagnosed with HIT Heparin reaction. I was back in the hospital for a week getting platelets up and inr regulated. By the grace of GOD, skilled medical teams and excellent family care I am 5 weeks out with no long-term afflictions. I'm expecting a full recovery! I specifically chose Dr. Jeremy Leidenfrost and the St Luke's, Chesterfield, MO team, just in case things went south. They didn't let me down! They were recently named a Cleveland Clinic affiliated hospital. They deserve that recognition! ❤️
