Diagnosed with moderate to severe aortic stenosis in October 2021. Symptomatic Severe aortic stenosis in March 2024. My doctors believe my aortic stenosis is a result of radiation treatment to my chest as part of my breast cancer treatment 26 years ago. Apparently the radiation used was much stronger at that time. So thankful to my PCP who noticed a stronger murmur than my normal born with physiological murmur and requested I get an echocardiogram two and a half years ago. My cardiologist has been monitoring me since then. My last echocardiogram in March indicated the stenosis was at the severe stage. Even though my symptoms are rather mild, it is time to do the replacement surgery.
