We have been aware of my mitral valve regurgitation for several years as it shows up during my yearly stress test. In May 2018 I came down with pneumonia that put me in the hospital for one week. During that time my heart was under a lot of stress. Testing that was done after my hospital stay showeing that my valve problem had intensified and it was recommended that I under go valve repair or replacement. My pre-op carotid ultrasound will be done on 02/01/2019 along with blood tests, chest x-rays and EKG. Surgery is scheduled for 9:30 am on 02/04.
