About Me (In My Own Words)
Learned of a "murmur" as a teenager. Began to "feel" infrequent palpitations mid 20's and was diagnosed with Aortic Stenosis and began annual cardiological care (EKG, Echocardiogram, Stress etc). I am athletic, i.e. triathlons, yoga, golf, ski etc most of my adult life. I remained asymptomatic. However my pressure gradient soared this past summer (2015) and my Cardiologist convinced me it was time for AVR. The surgeon stated post-op, my valve was one of the most severe he'd seen.
