Nicole DuPont I signed up for the American Heart Association Heart Walk not knowing if I would have the strength to do it. Knowing it was coming up gave me a focus and a goal. It was a 2.7 mile walk, and I didn’t get out of breath at all, but I did go home and take a nap!

Nicole DuPont I'd like to add that there couldn't be anyone more anxious than me prior to the surgery. I've spent so much time on this site over the past few months reading each of your stories and worrying about my own. I prepared (and over-prepared) for everything related to the hospital, coming home, etc., and it all turned out fine. Please know that it will be ok, regardless of how your story plays out. We're all on a slightly different path, but there's no question that whatever your challenges, you can find support and answers right here. I'm so thankful for you all.

Brian Tinsley great news. I will someday need a root/valve and replacement of my old dacron graft as my aortic valve leaks quite a bit. The most important thing is finding the right surgeon and making sure you are confident in his/her abilities :)
