William, I just saw a post that took me to your updated story and I'm sad to hear that you've had such a terrible time. I wonder whether you may have been traumatized. Have you been evaluated for PTSD? Anger and lashing out can be part of the symptoms, and there are some newer treatments that have helped many people. I hope you can find some comfort and answers. And hope better and easier days are on the horizon for you.

William Smith Thank you, Catie. I have been under a psychiatrist's care for many years now, being treated for bipolar, a diagnosis with which I am not in complete agreement. I have not been evaluated for PTSD but that sounds like it might be a good idea. And I want you to know that, 99%+ of the time I'm a sane, rational, intelligent man and that these outburst occur only when I'm severely pushed by people and/or circumstances. During these outbursts I feel that I must be that man from whom Jesus exorcised the Legion on demons (Luke VIII: 26-37). I very rarely, if ever, have specific recollections of what I have might said or done during these.
Heretofore, I have merely accepted the explanation that I probably suffered mini stroke(s) while anesthetized.
Anyhow, the whole thing may be a moot point. I was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 prostate cancer of a very aggressive sort and one that has already metastasized into my bones and lymph nodes. It is already causing hairline fractures in certain pelvic bone(s) and I can't walk without a cane or walker.
More later.

Catie B I'm so sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis with cancer, William. I very much hope that it turns out to be treatable.
You are the best expert on you and if you don't agree with the bipolar diagnosis, it's possible the psychiatrist is mistaken. It might be worth meeting with a trauma specialist, to see whether you might be suffering from PTSD and to inquire further on what's involved with the episodes where you can't remember your actions and words.
I believe you completely about the 99% of your life where things are normal. It sounds like you've had a very frustrating journey these last few years. I hope in time, you can get relief.
