Greg Lewis  Hi Violet! One thing i really want to tell you, is that i read your story, and you have NOT been handed a death sentence! What you have been given is an absolute miracle, and the opportunity to keep seeing, and enjoying life! In fact you are going to enjoy it more than you ever have before! The surgery is no cakewalk, but trust me on this, when it is all over, you are going to be this new, stronger, person, that can take on anything! Ok, so how to handle the morning of...One moment at a time! No amount of worry will change anything. If you read my own story, you will see that i could not, in a million years have dreamed up how it would go. Just keep going from one moment to the next one. And give all of it to God. I was worried, but i also had a great comfort too! Now, for post surgery... well i was pretty out of it, but same advice...one moment at a time. One hour at a time. Then focus on small goals. ( mine was going to the bathroom myself. Like i mean, not in my bed!! 😆 ) so pick those battles one by one, and overcome them!! Focus ahead. You can do this! And its very important to know that people are there for you! You are not alone! In ICU, you get your own nurse, and they will get you through it all. Its not as bad as you think. You will be fine. Your life will keep moving forward, you just gotta keep up !  😁

Greg Lewis  Welp, heres some free advice...dont read this forum, listen to KC & the Sunshine Band, and walk on the treadmill at the same time!! Almost walked right off the end!! 

Greg Lewis  My wife did that a few months ago! We were beside each other on the treadmills, talking. Then. She was gone. I looked down at her crumpled heap on the floor! I guess she kinda stept on the side. And then...crash! She hurt her hip a bit, but was ok. Of course they had it alll on tape. 😂😂..i mean 😪😪🤕.

Klara Čičić  This forum was my daily ritual each day before the surgery, in the morning, in the evening. It did wonders alleviating my fears... Knowing what to expect and reading wonderful words of encouragement was a real blessing. Each hurdle after surgery wasn't a surprise thanks to this forum. It meant so much. 

Cathy Byrne  Take a deck of cards. The Hubs and I played gin rummy until they wheeled me to the operating waiting  area. Helped a lot. I scorched him I might add. 😁

Greg Lewis  I know one thing you can be happy about today! ...that your NOT living here!! 😂 supposed to be -30c tonight! Not sure what that is in Deg. F, BUT damn cold!! 

Violet Helfen  Hi Greg.  Doing well today. Had Preoperative testing. Need to shower and wipe down per their instructions.  Was told to stay calm and think very positive thoughts.  …..I can do this - tomorrow is SHOW TIME. 

Patsy Stewart  Violet, I’m sorry I got your surgery date wrong. I’ll have you in my prayers again tomorrow and the next day as well. 
I have an Echo on Thursday that I’m looking forward to. I’m hoping my ejection fraction has improved. Thank you for asking. All the best to you. You can do this! xx~❤️
