Hi Tami. Glad to hear your recovery is going so well. I had trouble getting comfortable at night too. I often sleep on my side which was impossible at first – I was limited to my back only. Here’s what helped me sometimes – I’d rock to one side & slide a firm pillow under the lifted shoulder blade, then I’d let my upper body just rest back. My shoulders ended up at a slight angle, supported by the pillow & the bed. Then, I’d rock my knees to the same direction, place a pillow between the lower knee & the bed, & place another pillow between the two knees. I wasn’t all the way on my side so it did not place stress on my recently wired sternum, but it helped keep my spine in a new position for a while, giving it a rest from just being on my back. After a while, I’d change all of that to the other side. When I was on my back, it also helped to just place pillows under my knees to relieve stress in my low back. Keep on getting better! Joy Vera

Hi Tami Waiting to hear that your surgery went well and you are on the road to recovery. Now that it\'s behind you, you are in charge of walking, using your spirometer, resting and all you need to do to heal. Keep us up to date. Fran

Hi Tami, I just wanted you to know that I have been keeping you in my prayers and I know through the help of wonderful doctors that you will be so much stronger and healthier. Hi Tami Just came across your journal. Hope you came here because you read Adam\'s book. Where are you having your surgery on Monday? Will you get a new or repaired aortic valve along with having the aneurysm taken care of? I got a new valve (bovine) and repaired valve this past March. You will be fine, try to stay relaxed and do what ever the professionals tell you to do, they\'ve been thru it lots of times. A week from now it\'ll all be behind you and preparing to be discharged soon. Prayers from FL. Fran

You are my beautiful daughter. I am so proud of you. I want you to concentrate on thinking about yourself instead of worrying about us sitting in the waiting room. We have the easy job! You\'ve waited on me lots...now it\'s my turn. Thanks for all that you do for me. No one in the world has such a great daughter like I do!
